Calvary’s Vacation Bible School Daycamp, led by Lutherdale counselors, is this week: August 1-5. This year’s theme is “Jesus Chooses Us.”
When Jesus chose his disciples, they weren’t the “A” students or All Star team. Jesus picked a bunch of young fisherman and day-workers and changed the course of history. When Jesus chose to sit and eat with people, he called all to the table. Kings and religious leaders ate with sinners and tax collectors and found common ground to stand on in God’s word. When Jesus chose to return after Good Friday, he didn’t announce his triumphant return with fireworks or a parade but appeared to a grieving woman in a garden and left the good news in her hands to share with the world. At VBS Camp Calvary this summer we’ll discover what can happen when Jesus chooses us to be part of his team, shares a meal with us, and give us the opportunity to share the good news with all those around us.
VBS Camp Calvary runs from 9 am-1:30 pm each day, Monday through Friday for all children, kindergarten through 5th grade, with optional extended daycamp games from 1:30 - 2:30 pm. Children aged 3-4 have a special opportunity each day to join in the fun and faith from 9-11 am.
