Pastoral Search Team Updates

Pastoral Search Team ...led by the Spirit

On June 26, 2011, the Calvary Congregation met for the purpose of forming a call committee to begin the search for a new Senior Pastor.  Nine members were elected to the committee: 3 from the Congregation Council, 3 from the Board of Deacons, and 3 from the congregation at large.

The members elected are as follows:  Larry Bonier, Grace Gunnlaugsson, Ron Foster, Peggy Langelin, Mark Nyka, Andy Schatz, Kim Steiner, Janet Zastrow, and Erica Zipp.  Click on a name for a picture, contact information, and brief bio.

The group began meeting on July 14th and promptly renamed themselves the Pastoral Search Team,  to more closely reflect their true purpose.  During the process, the Pastoral Search Team (PST) intends to stay grounded in the Word, be led by the Holy Spirit, keep the congregation informed of their progress, and be diligent without acting hastily.  This web page serves as one means of keeping congregation members informed.  There will also be updates in the Crossroads (newsletter), in the Calvary Connections (email newsletter), in weekend bulletin announcements, and posted on the bulletin board outside the church office—newly dedicated to updates from your Pastoral Search Team.

Work has already begun on information gathering and outlining the needs for the process as well as Bible study and intense prayer.  The team asks all members of the congregation to pray for them and to pray that the Holy Spirit be at the center of this process and in the midst of our congregation during this transition period.
